What Time Does The Burma Liveaboard Depart?
- The liveaboard departs at 1800. It returns at approx 1000 6 days later.
- Please arrive at our dive shop in Khao Lak by 1200 (12 noon) so you can try on your scuba gear and complete payment and paperwork. It is a one hour taxi ride from Phuket Airport to our dive shop in Khao Lak
- Guests will be transferred from our dive shop to the liveaboard at 1400 – please make sure you are here before 1200
How do I make a booking for the Burma liveaboard?
Please send us an email using the form on the right to check availability for your chosen Burma liveaboard. We will send you a PayPal Deposit Invoice so that you can pay your deposit online to secure your reservation. The deposit is 20 per cent of the total liveaboard cost. You can then pay the balance when you arrive at our dive shop. We accept all major credit cards.
Please remember you also need to bring $200 US Dollars in cash – clean, new bills ONLY – for Myanmar immigration.

Where Is Your Dive Shop Located?
Our dive shop is located in Khao Lak, a small town about one hour’s drive up the coast from Phuket Airport. It’s a very chilled out town with several bars and restaurants, a good range of hotels for all budgets, and a nice beach.
How Much Does A Taxi Cost From Phuket Airport to Khao Lak?
A taxi costs 1200 Thai Baht from Phuket Airport to our shop in Khao Lak. It can be up to 1700 Thai Baht from a Phuket hotel to our shop in Khao Lak depending on its location. (Phuket is a big place!).
Can I get a domestic flight from Bangkok to Phuket?
Yes, you can book tickets online with Thai Airways, Air Asia and Bangkok Airways. We recommend Skyscanner to compare flights and see which offers the best deal for your dates.

How long does the liveaboard last?
The liveaboard is for 5 days and 6 nights. The liveaboard departs at 1400 with the minivan transfer to the boat in Ranong. The boat then clears Thai immigration, crosses to Myanmar and clears Myanmar immigration. The boat then sails through the night into Burma’s Mergui Archipelago. Diving begins first thing in the morning, with four dives on the first three days, three dives on day 4 and then 2 dives on the fifth day.
What Time Does The Liveaboard Return?
We finish our last dive around 1230 and then arrive back at Kura Buri Pier around 0600 the following morning. Guests are then transferred to Khao Lak by air-conditioned minivan – a 90 minute journey. Thai immigration is dealt with on arrival back in Khao Lak. Guests will be free to continue their journey onwards from 1000. You can check prices and availability of Khao Lak hotels online.
Where Should I Stay After The Liveaboard?
Khao Lak has a wide range of accommodation with a quiet beach area. You can also head to Phuket – a one hour drive away – and stay there. There is a huge amount of Phuket accommodation to choose from. As Phuket is a big place with many different beaches each with their own atmosphere, you might find this Phuket travel guide helpful to orientate yourself.
When can I fly after the liveaboard?
The current recommendation for flying after diving is 18 hours after your last dive. We finish diving on the liveaboard by around 1pm on the last day. This means you can fly from 6am the next morning. It’s recommend you leave as much time as possible before flying after diving – 18 hours is the minimum guideline.
How do I get to Phuket Airport from Khao Lak?
It is a one hour drive from Khao Lak to Phuket Airport and costs around 1200 baht. You can get a taxi at the airport by turning to your right and walking to the taxi kiosk.
Do I Need A Medical Before Learning To Dive?
No. You simply need to fill out a medical statement before diving, certifying you have no respiratory or other serious illnesses. If you are reasonably fit and healthy, you can dive. You can download a PDF version of the medical statement to read it for yourself. If in doubt, take the statement to your doctor and ensure he agrees you are fit to dive.
